Meridian drives students to cultivate their Filipino identity in both local and global contexts by building awareness and literacy in society, culture, and tradition. We engender trilingual learners by incorporating the English, Filipino, and Mandarin languages into our curriculum.
Section Names
Our students’ journey from becoming national to global thinkers can be represented through our carefully conceptualized section names. Section names for lower grades center on Filipino concepts and symbols (e.g. fruits, animals, places, musical instruments). Examples of these are Mamag (Tarsier), Durian, Kulintang (ancient musical instrument), and Torogan (a traditional house built by the Maranao people). Section names for higher grades focus on Filipino, Asian, and global heroes, leaders, and pioneers whom the students may look up to as their role model (e.g. Jose Rizal, King Sejong, Maryam Mirzakhani, Nelson Mandela, etc.)
Local Walkabouts
To nurture the students’ national identity, Meridian holds learning camps within Luzon and Visayas where students get to learn and develop newfound understanding and appreciation for their country’s culture and heritage.
The Virtual Visayas Learning Camp (March 2021)
In March 2021, the Grade 8 students had a virtual version of the Visayas Learning Camp. They toured the Mactan Liberty Shrine and Heritage Cebu Monument to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Battle of Mactan. They also had online discussions with Visayas- based entrepreneurs.
International Walkabouts and Twinning Programs
To prepare students to become global thinkers, Meridian provides opportunities for students to take part in international exchange programs where they can gain a fresh perspective on other cultures and ways of life and, at the same time, showcase the national identity that they were able to build in their home country.
The Meridian-Crest Twinning Program
The 7-year twinning program continues to thrive despite today’s limitations of traveling abroad. In October 2020, the Meridian and Crest students, teachers, and school leaders met virtually for a time of sharing stories of hope and joy.

Meridian empowers teachers to take the extra mile of knowing and understanding every student,
thus equipping them to excel in all areas of learning. A child’s performance and capabilities
are authentically measured from a holistic perspective. Students discover
their unique skills and talents and later on use these to contribute within and beyond
their immediate community.

Meridian establishes solid and collaborative partnerships with parents, teachers, and vision partners
to create a nurturing and supportive community for the children. This partnership is represented
by Meridian’s Meeting Garden, which was built and handcrafted from the ground up
by our very own Meridian parents, students, teachers, and staff in 2018.

Guidance Counselor
Always ready to listen, our approachable and tenderhearted Guidance Counselor strives
to help parents and students understand and nurture their psychological, socio-emotional,
and personal growth and development. The Guidance Office strengthens the connection between the school
and the home by curating events and partnership sessions that will equip students, parents, and the whole learning community
to face and deal with the situations and realities of today’s youth.
Clinic Team
Always ready to extend a helping hand, Meridian’s Clinic Team consists of friendly and nurturing health professionals
who are willing to go out of their way to provide, ensure, and support our students’ health and wellness needs.
Under the TFC set-up in the Academic Year 2020-2021, teleconsultation has made it possible for our Clinic Team
to continue their services to the community during these times
Student and External Affairs Team (SEA)
A team of creative and innovative minds, our SEA Department actively conceptualizes, creates, and facilitates
engaging and enriching programs carried outside the classroom to encourage
and support the students’ interests in extracurricular activities such as sports, music, arts, and more!
